This classroom-based course is for English teachers wanting to extend and/or update their skills and knowledge base with a particular emphasis on assisting second language learners of English. It is solidly based on the Communicative Approach to language teaching, although other approaches such as the Lexical Approach and Task-Based Language Learning (TBLL) are integrated.
The course runs for a week and costs ZAR3000 per delegate. A minimum of six delegates is necessary for a course to be scheduled. Day or evening courses are possible. A Certificate of Professional Development is issued by TESOL SA on successful completion of the course.
At present, this service is only offered in Cape Town. We hope to be able to offer it in other centres in the future.
