This course has been developed by Mark Kerruish to incorporate current best practice in the field. It uses a different approach and materials and is a substantial improvement on previous courses he has taught.
This is a comprehensive programme in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. The course takes about 120 hours to complete. Assessment is through assignments, a presentation and continuous assessment.
The course covers:
- Methods and Approaches
- Language awareness
- Grammar
- Teaching grammar
- Teaching the four skills - speaking, listening, reading and writing
- Classroom management
- Lesson planning
- Placement, progress and proficiency tests
- Learner needs analysis
- Tutor-guided observation and teaching practice
- Professional development
It is normally possible to complete the course by taking only two weeks off work.

Courses have different scheduled starting dates throughout the year. Please register at least two weeks prior to your preferred commencement date.
Please be advised that we require a minimum of 6 registrations or the commencement date will be carried over to the following month. You will be informed two weeks before the cancelled course if this is the case.
